Aurora Robson is a brooklyn-based artist that I had to go all the way to Aspen to discover. Her work is this ethereal and organic combination of plastic bottles, rivets, monofilament, junk mail, excess food packaging and many other types of waste that fill our landfills. Her sculpture are light, airy and they make you happy to be near them. I had trouble keeping my daughter away from UpDrop at the 212gallery in Aspen. Her sculptures seem timely and poignant in today’s society; she has put a positive spin on our country’s garbage! Check out her website for more examples of her work, her painting and works on paper also fantastic….I would love to see her work used in some of our upcoming projects!
